My Bro is Smokin'! (Not!)

Many good wishes and felicitations of the day to my brother in Baltimore. He hasn't had a cigarette since Sunday. I've never been a smoker, but I can only imagine how tough this is.

If you want to send good thoughts his way, please comment--he'll be sure to see your words of wisdom and comfort. Yes, he reads my blog. Because (a) he's my brother and he loves me, and (b) if he doesn't, I'm telling on him. Just because you're (well, WELL) past 10 doesn't mean you can't tell on your big brother. A mother's work is never done.

Right, Mom? Mom? Mooom? (--sound of crickets--)

I emailed your brother to congratulate him on extracting himself from the demon weed.

I miss it so! I know how hard it is to give up those devil sticks, having smoked for about 10 years.

Of course my greatest wish is that someday 9 out of 10 doctors find that smoking extends life...if you can just get past the disease stage.

My Mom died 6 months ago of cancer of the jaw. And the doctors said it is possible that her years of smoking (which she ended on 11/22/63)may have contributed to the disease.

I love the smokes. I LOVE THEM! But for now, I must take a pass.

Good one, Baltimore Man!

Hey Alison,

Here's to your brother, on or off the patch, the gum, the hypnosis, or whatever it takes:

Happy one week smokeless anniversary to yoooouuu, etc. etc.

Why a cool guy like you ever picked up such a vile, nasty habit has always been a mystery to me (you kwazy teenager, you)...

Hang in there; may I suggest some all natural Panda brand Licorice or Chocolate chews to ease the transition.

Oh, and I'M telling on BOTH of you.
