It's Happening Again

I'm beginning to care--really care. And I know my heart will be broken along with thousands--maybe millions--of others. We'll be in that swirl of heady intoxication all summer, only to be brought low in September. We know we shouldn't. And yet we do. And we wait for the inevitable, knowing that once in a very long time the inevitable doesn't happen.

So we hope. We hope. We hope.

In high school and college I had a bpyfriend that was a Red Sox fan since he was from New Hampshire. we used to go to Boston for the games and the green monster! It was funny because in school he was so arty farty and then he also liked baseball. I was and am still arty farty:)

Actually, I think that baseball is the arty farty sport, when you think about it. Look at all of those "thoughtful," "poetic," "boys of summer"-ish books written by the likes of George Will, Roger Angell, etc. Can't see those guys rhapsodizing about the Oakland Raiders or Manchester United, can you? :-)
