I learned something important last night when I went to the Manchester Airport to pick up my brother for Thanksgiving. Namely: while Dunkin Donuts iced coffee is still the best iced coffee, Dunkin iced with skim milk instead of cream is gray and yucky.
I was trying to do my brother a favor--he wanted a few sips, and he favors skim in his coffee--but I only get Dunkin iced about twice a month, so I don't worry about the extra calories in the cream.
Then I find out that he doesn't really like skim milk in his coffee (of which he drinks about a gallon a day); he likes fat-free half-and-half.
Learned my lesson, but good.
Chocolate donuts in caffeine free Diet Pepsi!
ReplyDeleteThat's adventure eating!
It's taken me some time to adjust from the "extra cream, extra sugar" to the "milk and 4 splenda". It does change it...but you know what, you get used to it after a while!
ReplyDeleteI did that once with a coolata...a wholata yuck.
ReplyDeleteI do cream and 3 or 4 Splenda myself. Reminds me of when I was a teenager and we'd make ice cream floats using full-fat, full-everything ice cream with diet fudge soda. We figured having no-cal soda made it okay! :-)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the gray and yucky thing! I could never get the hang of iced coffee anyway. I need it to be exactly like coffee ice cream or I can't drink it. and, at this point on the scale, I really shouldn't be looking at anything with that much cream and sugar in it.
ReplyDeletefunny, I hear a piece of pie calling my name right this minute...
